COVID-19

The Municipal Office is now open to the public (subject to change)

Penalty will be applied at zero percent (0%) until December 2020 on property taxes owing. Due to the pandemic, the dog tag late penalty fee will be waived for 2020.


Effective immediately the Fire Department is open to the public. Please follow the directions for physical distancing posted on the door when entering the Fire Hall.  For general inquiries, please call 705-384-7378 or email firechief@sundridge.ca

Please be advised that Fire Permits will not be required for the remainder of 2020, however, all provisions of By-law 2019-035 must be followed.


The Sundridge-Strong Union Public Library is open for limited services please contact the Library at 705-384-7311 during their regular hours with any questions.

As of July 24, 2020 Face Masks MUST be worn in all Municipal Buildings

The Municipal Office will be closed to the public until Monday July 6, 2020 (subject to change).

Penalty will be applied at zero percent (0%) from March 2020 to September 2020 on property taxes owing. The dog license deadline of March 31 will be extended.

Municipal playgrounds and recreational facilities are now closed in accordance with the new emergency order under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.

The Municipal Office Drop Box is now available during business hours. Documents submitted using the drop box will be disinfected and held for three days before being distributed to Municipal staff for processing. Please ensure all payments and supporting documentation are placed in a sealed envelope before being deposited into the drop box.

While Municipal staff will attempt to respond in a timely fashion, services are likely to take longer than normal due to the COVID-19 situation.

Canada Day 2020 Notice

 

May 15, 2020

At 12:01am on May 16, 2020 the Restricted Fire Zone will be lifted.

In an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 and to minimize physical contact with the public, our Municipal Office remains closed. For these reasons, we will not be issuing fire permits at this time. Campfires are permitted providing you follow the regulations as stated in the By-Law. We expect that you follow the regulations and when our office opens please stop in for a permit.

You may have a campfire after without a permit, however, please remember the following details and regulations apply with regards to campfires:

  • Campfire size is no larger than 2 feet by 2 feet – a fire larger than 2 feet by 2 feet is no longer considered to be a campfire
  • Do not have a campfire within 6 metres of a dwelling or structure
  • All campfires must be supervised by an adult (a person 18 years or older) and can never be left burning without an adult attending the fire
  • Make sure you have the ability to suppress the fire in the event of an emergency - water, shovels, rakes, sand
  • Make sure your fire is fully extinguished before leaving the site
  • Do not have a campfire if the wind speed is greater than 20 km/h
  • Do not burn garbage, plastic, rubber, etc. -dry wood only
  • You may have a campfire between the hours of 6:00pm and 10:00am only – no daytime burning is allowed
  • Make every effort to avoid creating a nuisance for your neighbour while having your fire

Please remember you are responsible for managing fire safety and failure to do so may result in fines and payment of any/all fees required to extinguish the fire. Please check the Village of Sundridge website and Fire Rating signs for information regarding the current Fire Rating in the area.
